OZ Optics Introduces Automated Polarization Extinction Ratio Measurement Systems for MPO/MTP® PM Fiber Patchcords and V-Groove Arrays

Ottawa, ON – Sept 3, 2026 - OZ Optics Limited, a world leading supplier of fiber optic products for existing and next-generation optical networks, announces its automated system for measuring the polarization extinction ratio (PER)  polarization maintaining fiber (PM) patchcords terminated with MPO/MTP^® connectors as well as fiber optic V-groove arrays.

Designed for fast, accurate, and automated polarization performance testing, the system performs multi-channel polarization extinction ratio measurements while minimizing operator involvement and measurement time. It is designed to support OEM integration, automated testing, and high-throughput production environments where consistent and repeatable polarization measurements are essential.

The system features two main instruments:

• A Multi-channel source launches well-defined linear polarization states with high extinction ratios into patchcord assemblies, with automated control of individual fiber channels, delivering a stable and reliable polarization reference for testing.
• A polarization measurement instrument utilizes an automated positioning stage to measure the polarization extinction ratio of each individual channel without operator intervention.

The instruments may be used separately or together. A computer with an intuitive Windows based application provides easy system operation, measurement control, and data analysis and reporting. The system can be customized for different connector, ferrule, and array configurations to suit specific customer requirements, formats, and configurations.
