Product Description:

OZ Optics stocks a variety of ferrules to terminate your own fibers. These ferrules are available in a range of outer diameters, hole sizes, lengths and materials, making them usable for many different applications. The different materials are useful for different applications, such as the following:

• Zirconia – known for precise tolerances. Widely used for singlemode and PM fi ber terminations
• Stainless steel – low cost, useful for large core multimode fi ber terminations
• Borosilicate glass (Pyrex) – Transparent to UV light, can be used with UV cured epoxies
• Kovar – expands and contracts at the same rate as glass. Useful when parts are subjected to large temperature swings
• Beryllium copper – excellent thermal conductivity for high power applications
• Nickel – good thermal conductivity and precise tolerances. Good for high power applications where alignment is critical
