OZ Optics Introduces Polarization Extinction Ratio Meters For MPO/MTP® PM Fiber Patchcords And V-Groove Arrays

Ottawa, ON – Sept 3, 2026 - OZ Optics Limited, a world leading supplier of fiber optic components and test equipment for existing and next-generation optical networks, announces its automated Polarization Extinction Ratio (PER)  Meter for testing polarization maintaining fiber (PM) patchcords terminated with MPO/MTP^®connectors, MT ferrules and fiber optic V-groove arrays.

Designed for fast, accurate, and automated PER testing, the meter performs multi-channel polarization extinction ratio measurements with minimal operator involvement and measurement time. It is designed to support OEM integration, automated testing, and high-throughput production environments where consistent and repeatable polarization measurements are essential.

The Meter employs an automated positioning stage to position each channel of the assembly under test in front of a collimating lens, rotating polarizer, and detector to measure the polarization extinction ratio of each individual channel without operator intervention. A computer using an intuitive Windows based application provides easy system operation, measurement control, and data analysis and reporting. The system can be customized for different connector, ferrule, and array configurations to suit specific customer requirements, formats, and configurations.
